Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)
Bioidentical
Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is an alternative
to Traditional Hormone Replacement Therapy (THRT)
(Premarin, Prempro, Estratest. . .). BHRT uses
natural plants (yams/soybeans) to make estrogen
NOT synthetically constructed, which have been
linked to uterine and breast cancer and early
Alzheimer's disease, like THRT. The BIG difference
is the bioidentical hormone is identical to the
body’s natural hormones making it easier for the
body to use plus decreasing the side effects.
Unlike the BHRT, the THRT is NOT identical to
the body’s hormones making it difficult for the
body to use and increases the side effects (weight
gain, acne, facial hair, insomnia, among many
others). Saliva testing is the preferred and most
accurate way to test your hormones. This is needed
in order to construct an individualized prescription
compound. Diagnos-Tech, Inc offers saliva testing
through Complete Care Center. Your insurance may
or may not cover this testing.
