We will gladly bill most insurance plans. However, we may not be considered a "preferred provider" on your particular plan, which means your insurance may not pay the full amount or you may have different deductibles. You are encouraged to contact your insurance company to inquire about your specific benefits. No Insurance? OR insurance we don't participate with? We can still see you! We have special reduced Time of Service (TOS) pricing for patients in this situation. A special Health Share Plan Membership product is also available. Gregory Lantz is a licensed Professional Counselor specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, and maintains a practice at Complete Care Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
With over 20 years experience as a leader in youth ministry, Gregory has years of experience working and counseling with adolescents, families, and couples. His desire to bring knowledge and professionalism to his counseling led to a Master's degree in Professional Counseling. He is currently in the dissertation process for his Ph.D. in Psychology after completing all of his coursework with expected graduation in 2016. Gregory has specialized in Health Psychology giving him insight into the unique relationship between physical health and mental health.
Gregory completed his year-long internship at REACH in Flint, Michigan. Here he had a caseload consisting of troubled adolescents, meeting with both the adolescent and the family. This provided rich experience in crisis management, parole violations, substance abuse, depression and suicidal tendencies to name a few.
Gregory uses primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a philosophy that believes a person uses harmful or faulty thinking that then leads to emotional and behavioral disturbances. Our cognitions (thoughts) determine how we feel and act. Cognitive Therapy is aimed at changing the role of one's thinking, deciding, questioning, doing, and redeciding. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is also used, especially when treating a patient with Bipolar or Borderline Personality Disorder.
Using these models and others if needed, we will use therapy to learn new ways of thinking, and acquire more effective ways of coping with problems. Homework is used between sessions to keep the patient focused and returning the next week with new knowledge and a sense of accomplishment.
